Boyle Heights Beat Podcast

This July, recent high school graduates- Chloe Manilay and Emily Morales from KSP and Angela Caliz and Kathryn Mora from Boyle Heights Beat- collaborated together to create a podcast episode on the transition from high school to college. They discussed different aspects of the college experience including housing, affordability, campus culture, culture shock, and leaving home.

Boyle Heights Beat is an independent community journalism program, serving an immigrant neighborhood in East Los Angeles of just under 100,000. Its print edition is produced by local youth reporters who center their stories around quarterly neighborhood meetings discussing ideas and concerns.
