KSP Field Trip to “Next Sohee” at the Academy Museum

On Thursday, June 22, the KSP team visited the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures with some of our friends and KSP older adult participants from St. James Manor to watch a screening of Next Sohee, directed by Jung July. The film was part of the museum’s screening series titled “A New Wave of Korean Cinema: Korean Women Directors.”

“Based on a true story, Next Sohee depicts the jarring reality of marginalized workers in a society that values inhumane competitiveness while promoting compliance in the name of the ‘common good.’ ”

It was a great time of movie-watching, exploring the museum, and celebrating female Korean directors. Koreatown Storytelling Program is honored to be community partners with the Academy Museum for this series.
