Elder Participants ( 2024-2025)
During our 2024-2025 cohort, KSP students interviewed older adults in our Koreatown community who practice a wide range of traditional healing practices. These include acupuncture, herbal medicine, botanical remedies, essential oils, and bee venom therapy—modalities deeply rooted in the cultural traditions of our primarily immigrant, limited-income community. Through these conversations, we gained a deeper understanding of the diverse, culturally significant approaches to health and wellness that continue to play an important role in Koreatown and the broader Los Angeles area.
