AAPI Joy: Wellness, Healing, Resilience & Resistance

On Saturday, June 1st, the Los Angeles Public Library (LAPL) hosted the AAPI Joy Festival, a vibrant celebration of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. The event, organized in collaboration with the Koreatown Youth and Community Center (KYCC) and the Korean Senior & Youth Center (KSP), highlighted the rich cultural diversity of the AAPI community in Los Angeles.

KYCC and KSP engaged with library patrons and community members, sharing information about their youth services and upcoming workshops. The outreach aimed to raise awareness and encourage participation in future events, receiving enthusiastic responses from attendees.

Special thanks to Sung Kim, LAPL’s Special Collection Librarian, who played a crucial role in making this celebration possible. Their dedication to cultural diversity and inclusion was key in bringing the AAPI Joy Festival to life.
