KSP Goes to Oakland!

In August 2024, the KSP had the amazing opportunity to travel up north to Oakland, CA to document stories from Oakland’s very own Koreatown!

With generous funding from the Korean American Community Foundation of San Fransisco, we partnered with our friends at Korean American Story to interview first-gen community members of Oakland Koreatown. These narrators included property and business owners, as well as community activists who were vital members in the creation of the Korean American community in the East Bay.

None of this would have been possible without our amazing intern, Christine, who conceived and brought this project to life! We were so honored to be able to hear these stories and are so excited to share them very soon.
