KSP Receives Grant From NextFifty Initiative!
KYCC is excited to share that Colorado-based @NextFiftyInitiative has awarded us $50,000 to support our aim to establish connections across generations, languages, and cultures in Koreatown.
This award will help us keep doing what we love: serving our community members who are 50 and older. Koreatown Storytelling Program is OVER THE MOON that the NextFifty funds will help support our engagement and interviews with older adults in the food industry.
We are also thrilled that NextFifty’s Flexible Support 2022 grant will help KYCC create a SOAK (Supporting Older Adults in Koreatown) navigator position. This position will help us understand the needs of our community’s older adults and assist them with resources and referrals. As our community ages, we want to make sure that we are understanding and advocating for their needs.
KYCC is so honored to receive this grant. We encourage our AAPI partners to learn more about this foundation’s efforts to improve quality of life for people age 50+: https://bit.ly/Next50Initiative
Special thanks to @encoreorg, @openingmindsthroughart and the #gen2gen fellows for sharing this initiative with us!
