Meet our LA County Arts & Culture Intern!

Meet @lacountyarts and Koreatown Storytelling Program Intern Monica Negrete! Monica is a recent UCLA graduate with a bachelor’s degree in anthropology. She is passionate about ethnography, oral history, books, and editing. Outside of KSP, Monica is an avid book and webcomic reader. She even likes to learn grammar and style guides for fun. During her time interning for KSP, she began a microproject in the designated Little Bangladesh neighborhood of Koreatown, where she worked with local Bengali students and conducted photo ethnographic research. Some of her favorite times with KSP staff included focus groups, birthday celebrations, older adult interviews, and talking grammar with her supervisor, Katherine Yungmee Kim.
