Ssi Ya Gi x KSP Listening Party

On Sat., June 25, KSP joined partner organizations @gyopo.us and @ssiyagi at the @cultivala1 Westlake Community Garden for a sit-down listening party celebrating and honoring our elders, their stories, and their food memories. Dinner was provided by @shikulosangeles and was inspired by the stories and recipes the elders shared.

KSP students in attendance helped translate and share elder stories with the larger group and conducted oral history interviews with attendees who shared their own memories around food and some of their favorite meals.We want to give a big thank you to @gyopo.us and @ssiyagi for putting on such a beautiful event, @cultivala1 for providing a safe space at the Westlake Community Garden, @shikulosangeles for the meaningful food, and our elders for entrusting us with their stories!
